Over the last few years, the Town of Richland has obtained several grants for the betterment of our community.  Below are some photos of those improvements.

Richland Town Park:  We received a $50,000 grant to purchase new equipment for the Richland Hamlet Park.  We are currently working on another grant to add more new, exciting pieces.

Solar Panels at the Water Building:  In December 2019, the Town of Richland was awarded a $50,000 grant through NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities program. The funds were used to install a 21.39 kW ground mounted solar array at our Central Waterworks facility, located at 1830 County Route 41. The panels were installed in the winter/spring of 2020 and put online in March 2020. The solar panels at the water building generate enough electricity to offset 100% of the annual electric use at the water building and generated 14,992 kWh in excess production from 9/2/2020-9/8/2021. This excess generation will be able to offset electric usage at the Richland Orwell Road facility, which is the Town’s largest electric user. The solar panels are estimated to save the Town approximately $2,600 per year and reduce emissions by approximately 11.4 metric tons annually.
